Olya Terms of Use

The short version

Olya helps you understand what’s happening, keep track of it, and get ready for appointments. Olya explains things. Your care team decides things.

Olya is not a doctor and is not a substitute for medical care. It cannot tell you whether something is an emergency. If you think you might be having one, call 911 or go to an emergency room.

Olya is free for patients and families. You keep your information and you can delete it whenever you want.

This summary is for orientation. The full terms below govern.

1. Agreement

These Terms are between you and Cancer Connector LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we,” “us”), which operates Olya. By using Olya you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Olya.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of this agreement.

2. What Olya is, and what it is not

Olya provides informational, educational, and organizational support. It helps you understand terms and reports, keep track of what changes between appointments, remember what was said, organize your questions, and prepare a summary to bring to your care team.

Olya does not practice medicine. Specifically, Olya does not and will not:

No professional relationship is created. Using Olya does not create a doctor-patient relationship with anyone.

Oncologists advise us on the clinical information Olya draws on. They review that material ahead of time, before it goes into the product. They are not your doctors, they do not see your conversations, and they are not reviewing anything about your case. Nothing Olya says has been checked by a clinician for you specifically.

The Wondrlink Foundation provides those advisors and connects us with patients and families. It does not operate Olya, and using Olya does not create any relationship with the Foundation.

Always talk to your doctor or another qualified provider about your care. Never delay seeking care, or disregard something a clinician has told you, because of anything Olya said.

3. Emergencies

Olya cannot help you in an emergency and cannot monitor you.

Nobody is watching your conversations. Nothing you tell Olya reaches your care team automatically. If something feels wrong, call your care team. If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency room.

Olya may tell you that something shouldn’t wait. That is not an assessment of urgency, and the absence of such a message does not mean anything is fine.

4. Who can use Olya

You must be 18 or older.

Where Olya is offered. Olya is built for people receiving cancer care in the United States, and that is where we offer it. Everything you share is stored and processed in the United States.

We do not currently block access from other countries. If you use Olya from outside the United States, you are sending your information here, where privacy and health laws differ from those where you live. Olya is also built around how cancer care works in the US, including its guidelines, its trial registries, and how appointments and records tend to work, so it may be less useful elsewhere.

We are not asking you to give up any rights you have under the laws of your own country, because that is not something terms of use can do. We are telling you where your information goes so you can decide.

Using Olya for someone else. You may use Olya for yourself, or to help someone you care for. If you are using it on behalf of another person, you confirm you have their permission.

5. Your information and content

You keep ownership of everything you put into Olya: your conversations, documents, recordings, and summaries.

You give us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to provide Olya to you. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for recordings being lawful where you are. See Section 8.

6. What Olya asks of you

7. Accuracy and limitations

Olya uses AI, and AI makes mistakes. It can misread a document, misunderstand something you said, or state something incorrectly with apparent confidence.

Olya works from published clinical guidelines and other approved cancer sources, and those change. Information can be out of date. Clinical trial information comes from public registries and may not reflect a trial’s current status.

Check anything important with your care team. That is not a formality. It is how the product is designed to be used, and it is why Olya turns what it doesn’t know into questions rather than guesses.

8. Recordings

If you record an appointment, you are responsible for the recording being lawful where you are. Recording laws vary by state, and some require consent from everyone in the conversation. Some practices have their own policies.

Ask for permission before recording.

9. Cost

Olya is free for patients and families. We intend to keep it that way, and we are building the parts that clinics and health systems pay for so that patients don’t have to.

If that ever changes, we will tell you well in advance and you will never be charged without agreeing first.

10. Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Olya. If we discontinue it, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your information first.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Olya and delete your information at any time, from within the product or by emailing hello@olya.health.

We may end your access if you materially breach these Terms, and will tell you why unless prevented by law.

12. Disclaimers

Olya is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that Olya will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its information will be accurate or complete.

Some states do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of this may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Olya.

Our total liability arising from these Terms or your use of Olya will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.

Some states do not allow these limitations, so some of this may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of Olya, your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or content you upload that you did not have the right to upload.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect. Continuing to use Olya afterward means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Miscellaneous

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about Olya. You may not assign them; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
